The IRN-BRU Carnival footfall soars to ‘new heights’

Visitors were entertained and thrilled at the SECC, Glasgow, during the festive season (21 December 2016 – 15 January 2017) with over 65 rides and attractions, including the newly returned ‘Sticky Wall’ – a gravity-defying ride that levitates riders into the air as the floor beneath their feet disappears.

Fran McIntyre, managing director at QD Events, comments: “The IRN-BRU Carnival continues to be an integral event in Glasgow’s festive calendar – evident in our attendance figures.

“However, we are always looking to improve and expand the variety of rides and stalls we have available to cater to public demand. This year, we knew bringing back the ‘Sticky Wall’ would be a popular decision – it has certainly paid off!”

Celebrating 96 years of family fun, The IRN-BRU Carnival is a Glasgow institution and continues to grow year-on-year. In addition to the ‘Sticky Wall’, new for 2016/17 were thrill rides ‘King Loops’ and ‘Superbowl’, along with the ‘Ice Mirror Maze’ for kids.

There were family favourites such as the dodgems, carousel and waltzers. Also back by popular demand for a second year was the Inflatable Play Area, where kids can bounce until their hearts are content.

Whether it’s the sea of colour and flashing lights, sweet scent of candy floss or the pure excitement and thrill of the rides, there is something for all ages.

The IRN-BRU Carnival will return to the SECC, Glasgow in December 2017. For more information visit www.irn-bru-carnival.com.
