Clash of the Tartans

Launching The Scottish Wedding Show and honouring the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology, a ‘Chieftain’ bride and groom today (5 October 2017) paid homage to Scotland’s historical families with a ‘Battle of the Clans’ wedding.

Staged at the famous ‘Battle of Bannockburn’ site in Stirling, the bride and groom were clad in a tartan-inspired wedding dress and full Scottish attire, and took up their shields in preparation for the return of Scotland’s biggest and best wedding event.

Returning to the SEC, Glasgow on 7-8 October 2017, The Scottish Wedding Show has long established itself as the height of elegance and style when it comes to planning for your wedding day.

Brand new to the October 2017 show is John Amabile’s ‘Your Wedding Wows!’ - the go-to spot for exclusive ‘live’ tips on crafting the perfect elements for your big day.

With up to 300 of the UK’s leading wedding suppliers in attendance, visitors can expect invaluable advice as well as a host of exclusive offers and discounts from the best in the industry.

Whatever stage brides and grooms are at, The Scottish Wedding Show is the No.1 destination for wedding planning – from stunning gowns and extravagant wedding cakes, to stylish photographers and custom-made wedding stationery, everything is covered.

Take a seat at the dazzling Catwalk Fashion Show - with performances three times a day seating up to 700 people - and feast your eyes on the perfect source of inspiration for your picture-perfect wedding look.

The Live Band Showcase will be making a welcome return, giving visitors the opportunity to see leading performers work their magic on stage, while enjoying live entertainment throughout the day.

Back by popular demand is the ‘Field of Dreams’ feature area. Whether it’s an outdoor wedding ceremony, alfresco cocktail hour or a reception dinner under the stars, prepare to be inspired with everything from illuminating string lighting and rustic lanterns, to glamping tents and mini prosecco vans.

The day wouldn’t be complete without some early wedding celebrations – hot-foot it to the Cocktail Bar and pop open a bottle of bubbly. For a ‘FROW’ catwalk experience, upgraded VIP tickets are available which come with a complimentary glass of bubbly and access to the luxurious VIP lounge.
