Butlers serve up lottery luck in Bridge of Allan

A troop of 10 National Lottery butlers descended onto Bridge of Allan for the day to help locals celebrate luck. The immaculately dressed butlers - kitted out in tailcoats with white gloves and silver serving trays – took to the streets handing out lucky sunflowers and money trees while giving residents a luxury helping hand.

Local businesses, including The Royal Hotel, Jam Jar, The Allanwater Café and Leeanne Kerr Hairdressing, benefitted from the action as the butlers treated some customers by pampering them during their visit and paying for some lucky treats.

At Allanwater Papers people were also given an exclusive chance to speak directly with a National Lottery winner, Libby Elliot who scooped over £2.2 million on the Lotto in August 2012, seeking her ‘expert’ advice on choosing numbers and top tips on what to do if you win big.

Commenting on the excitement of the day, Adrian Bechelli, owner of The Allanwater Café, said, “It isn’t every day that a stranger, let alone a butler, pays for your lunch or helps you out on the street, so to say that people were surprised is an understatement. The whole town was on a high and everyone definitely felt lucky!”

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor said: “The National Lottery makes, on average, a new millionaire every day meaning there are big winners in every corner of the country. To date, 141 major prizes of at least £50,000 have been banked by players in the FK postcode, including the creation of 20 Lottery millionaires. Our butlers are always ready to help local people celebrate and we have plenty of champagne on ice.”

It isn’t just individuals winning big, entire communities benefits from the money raised by The National Lottery. Grants worth £2.9bn have been distributed to 61,187 National Lottery funded projects in Scotland to date including the iconic Kelpies in Falkirk.

Each National Lottery player helps to raise over £30M every week for Good Causes. This helps fund small projects in every local community as well as national projects such as our Olympians and Paralympians.
