Backstage Passes to Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms

Hundreds of people are expected to enjoy a taste of luxury this weekend, indulging in a celebration of Edinburgh’s architecture, culture and heritage as part of the annual Doors Open Day.

From 11am-4pm, Assembly Rooms will welcome locals and visitors alike to peek behind the scenes of the exceptional events venue.

Shona Clelland, General Manager of Assembly Rooms said: “With unprecedented access to some of Edinburgh’s most-loved venues, Doors Open Day is a great opportunity for those with an appetite for exploring.

“Our knowledgeable team will be hosting a series of tours over the course of the day, telling the story of the Assembly Rooms’ unique heritage and showcasing the beautiful chandeliers, painstakingly restored Coade stone statues and ornate plasterwork which make our setting so unique.”

Now in its 25th year, the Doors Open Day event has become one of the capital’s most popular free days out, with hundreds of structurally, culturally and socially significant buildings participating in the free celebration of our extraordinary city. From heritage landmarks to the city’s newest architecture, Doors Open Day offers the public an exclusive opportunity to find out more about the Edinburgh’s public buildings.
