Media manager.

This role can be based in our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices. We are currently hybrid - three days a week in the office, two at home.

It will include:

• Identifying news hooks and working with clients to develop them into media stories and positive coverage
• Preparing engaging and accurate media materials that effectively deliver clients’ key messages
• Overseeing production of supporting assets eg photography, video
• Building positive relationships with news, business, and trade media
• Press office management: managing reactive media enquiries to deadline and advising clients how best to respond to these
• Monitoring the media landscape to identity opportunities and potential reputational challenges for clients
• Managing media briefings, photocalls and events
• Supporting delivery of our media training programme

We are looking for someone with:

• Around 4-5 years’ experience, ideally as a journalist or in a press office role
• An in-depth understanding of the media landscape and news agenda
• Strong copywriting skills and exceptional attention to detail
• A can-do mindset who shows good initiative
• Ability to present confidently
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the capacity to work across multiple client accounts with different teams
