Media manager.
Join our growing team
This role can be based in our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices. We are currently hybrid - three days a week in the office, two at home.
It will include:
- Identifying news hooks and working with clients to develop them into media stories and positive coverage
- Preparing engaging and accurate media materials that effectively deliver clients’ key messages
- Overseeing production of supporting assets eg photography, video
- Building positive relationships with news, business, and trade media
- Press office management: managing reactive media enquiries to deadline and advising clients how best to respond to these
- Monitoring the media landscape to identity opportunities and potential reputational challenges for clients
- Managing media briefings, photocalls and events
- Supporting delivery of our media training programme
We are looking for someone with:
- Around 4-5 years’ experience, ideally as a journalist or in a press office role
- An in-depth understanding of the media landscape and news agenda
- Strong copywriting skills and exceptional attention to detail
- A can-do mindset who shows good initiative
- Ability to present confidently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the capacity to work across multiple client accounts with different teams
